Blake Scholars Program at Emory School of Nursing
Shortages of qualified, mental health professionals are at crisis levels locally, statewide, nationally, and globally, disproportionately affecting the pediatric and adolescent populations.
The Blake Scholars Program exists to equip nurse practitioners to meet the needs of the most vulnerable among us and help close the gap in access to mental health care for our youngest populations. Through investment by the Liz Blake Giving Fund, the program provides full tuition for nurse practitioners intending to focus on child and adolescent behavioral and mental health to pursue a post-graduate certificate in psychiatric mental health nursing from the Emory University School of Nursing. Blake Scholars do clinical training at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the new Zalik Behavioral and Mental Health Center.
2024 Blake Scholars Celebration
With the program fully underway, we’re honored to celebrate the scholarship recipients and the difference they’re making in mental health support for Atlanta’s youngest populations.
